Plage de Donnant

Morbihan, Bretagne

Donnant beach is a large sandy beach on the wild coast of Belle-Île-en-Mer, in the Morbihan, in the commune of Bangor. It unfolds at the back of a cove open to the Atlantic, between dunes and cliffs, and impresses with the power of its waves and the beauty of its light.

Swimming is dangerous there because of currents and surf; people come mainly to walk, rest and watch the sea. The site is easy to reach from the road, with a superb view from the dunes. It combines with the Aiguilles de Port-Coton, the Pointe des Poulains and the village of Sauzon, for a full day on Belle-Île.
