Troglo Degusto
Troglo Degusto is an underground site at Bourré, in the commune of Montrichard Val de Cher (Loir-et-Cher), between the château de Chenonceau and the Beauval park.
The guided visit leads visitors, lamp in hand, through a network of hand-dug galleries made to extract tuffeau, the stone used to build the Loire châteaux. These former quarries were later used as a mushroom farm, then as a cellar. The guide tells the geology, history and traditions of this underground world, where the temperature stays close to 12 °C all year round: a warm layer is advised.
The walk ends with a tasting of wines from the estate and local produce, with grape juice for children. A treasure hunt in the form of an adventure game is also offered to families. The site is advertised as accessible to people with reduced mobility and to pets.
