Maison de la Magie Robert Houdin

Loir-et-Cher, Centre-Val de Loire

The Maison de la Magie Robert-Houdin is a museum in Blois, in the Loir-et-Cher, devoted to conjuring. With the 'Musée de France' label, it is the only public museum in Europe to present collections of magic and a permanent live show in the same place.

It is directly linked to Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin, the famous French illusionist born in Blois in 1805. Opened in 1998, the museum presents the life and many-sided work of Robert-Houdin, illusionist but also inventor, clockmaker and builder of automata. Its collections of magic objects and posters retrace the history of the art.
