Clue de carejuan
The Clue de Carejuan, also written Carajuan, is on the Verdon, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, between the Point Sublime and the Pont de Soleils. It is a section of the tourist route on the right bank of the gorges, which the road follows closely: after floods of the Verdon, it had to be rebuilt at this spot.
Before the Carajuan bridge, a place liked by white-water enthusiasts, picnickers and trout fishermen, the road passes under an overhang cut into the cliff. The Jabron joins the Verdon here; a small stone bridge of 1787 spans this torrent, and an easy path leads to the clue and the banks of the Verdon. In the crevices of the cliff, you can watch about twenty vultures in flight.
Further on, the road reaches the Pont de Soleils, the upstream meeting point of the roads of both banks for discovering the Verdon gorges. About 4 kilometres after the Carajuan bridge, a narrow tunnel leads to the Point Sublime. Access and paths may change with floods: ask locally.
