Cascade de la Piche
The Cascade de la Piche lies in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, at the mouth of the Cirque de l'Estrop, an impressive hanging glacial cirque above the Bléone valley.
The river crosses a rock barrier typical of glacier-shaped landscapes, forming a waterfall that marks the transition between the high, rocky cirque and the wooded valley below. The site is reached at the end of a mountain hike, in a wild setting of alpine meadows and limestone walls, with a panorama over the surrounding peaks of the Trois Évêchés massif.
