Cascade de la Lance
The Lance waterfall is a classified natural site, a few steps from the fortified town of Colmars-les-Alpes, in the Haut-Verdon (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). The fall is about twenty metres high, up to 25 according to some sources, and falls almost in a single jet.
From Colmars, you take the road indicating the waterfall and follow the Lance torrent to the end of the route, where the fall is discovered. A car park lets you stop nearby. The path is not suited to wheelchairs, but a joëlette (all-terrain chair) can be lent by the tourist office.
Access is closed in winter because of frost and rockfall; it is open in the fine season. The place offers a short and cool walk, in the heart of the Southern Alps.
