Navarrenx
Navarrenx, the first bastioned town in France, raises its centuries-old ramparts that inspired Vauban in the heart of the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire of the Béarn des Gaves.
A former bastide, Navarrenx became, in the first half of the sixteenth century, the main stronghold of the Béarn.
The ramparts of Navarrenx are still intact today, as are the military constructions, and let you guess the rich historical past of Navarrenx by inviting you on a walk through time… in one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France".
