Château de Mauléon
The château de Mauléon, known as the old castle, is in the commune of Mauléon-Licharre, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. It was listed as a historic monument on 4 May 1925. The castle has three elliptical towers and is reached by a three-arched bridge leading to the drawbridge. Past the gateway lies a large courtyard, austere because of its belt of ramparts topped along their whole length by a wall-walk that you can walk to enjoy the superb panorama of the valley.
