Musée d'Histoire de Lyon, les Musée
The Gadagne museum (or Hôtel de Gadagne) is a museum in the heart of Old Lyon, in the Saint-Jean district of Lyon. It is made up of the Lyon history museum and the World Puppet Museum. After it was found to be obsolete, the museum closed in 1998 for more than ten years of renovation and enlargement work. It has been open since 12 June 2009. The building has been listed as a historic monument since 1920. It was acquired in stages by the city of Lyon between 1902 and 1941. It houses the collections previously installed in the town hall until 1857. The history of the city is presented chronologically, from Antiquity to the present day, in 30 rooms showing objects, plans, engravings and documents witnessing the different eras.
