Les Loups du Gévaudan

Lozère, Occitanie

The Parc des Loups du Gévaudan is at Sainte-Lucie, in the commune of Saint-Léger-de-Peyre, near Marvejols, in the Lozère. Created in 1985, it is one of the largest wolf parks in France. Its founder, the journalist Gérard Ménatory, had taken in two Polish wolves as early as 1961.

Wolves from Mongolia, Canada, Poland, Siberia and the Arctic live in semi-freedom in large wooded enclosures, in the legendary land of the Beast of Gévaudan. A route allows visitors to observe the animals and better understand their behaviour, way of life and role in the ecosystem.

The site offers guided tours, educational sessions and exhibitions throughout the year. Accommodation with large picture windows overlooks the grey wolves, for a night close to the animals.
