Grotte de Labeil
The Labeil cave is a show cave in the commune of Lauroux, on the southern edge of the Larzac causse, in the Hérault. It opens in the Labeil dolomitic cirque, at 700 metres' altitude, where the Laurounet rises.
Its natural entrance, a former Roquefort cellar, gives level access to the underground river: the sound of illuminated waters offers a unique spectacle. After following the river, you reach without difficulty the richly coloured crystallised network, before coming out beside the entrance. The visit is easy and pleasant with the family, and combines well with discovering the Larzac and the region's villages.
