Château de la Punta
The château de la Punta is a château at Alata, in Corse-du-Sud, listed as a historic monument since 1977. Built in the early nineteenth century, between 1806 and 1814, according to local information, or in the late nineteenth century according to other sources, it was hit by a fire in 1978 and then suffered heavy deterioration. It is the only château of its kind in Corsica and has hosted plays and concerts.
It has been under rehabilitation since 2020. Access to the interior of the building is limited, and its visit is mainly from outside, in a park overlooking the Gulf of Ajaccio. It remains a singular place of Corsican heritage.
