Château de la Mogère
The Château de la Mogère, in Montpellier, is one of the 18th-century 'folies' around the city. This private house, a listed historic monument, was designed as a place of pleasure and entertaining in the middle of its estate.
The guided tour takes in the salons, the park and the gardens. Among the curiosities of the garden is a water buffet. The salons display furniture from several periods, from Louis XV to the Empire, and from several regions, such as a Cévennes wardrobe.
The château also rents out rooms for receptions and seminars. It is best to contact the château before coming to find out which tours are on offer.
