Aquarium Tropical de la Porte Dorée

Paris, Île-de-France

The Tropical Aquarium is set in the basement of the Palais de la Porte Dorée, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. The palace is a Paris cultural venue that also hosts exhibitions and events.

The collection gathers about 5,000 animals and 300 species, a figure that changes constantly with births, exchanges with other public aquariums and donations. You discover fish and other aquatic animals presented in tanks reproducing their original environments.

The route is accessible to all: children find a first contact with aquatic biodiversity and schools an educational support, while adults appreciate the palace's historic setting.

Located in the east of Paris, the place lends itself well to a family outing, notably in rainy weather. Visits there are free during Heritage Days.
