Cité nationale de l'histoire de l'immigration
The Cité nationale de l'histoire de l'immigration (CNHI) is a French immigration museum set in the Palais de la Porte Dorée in eastern Paris and opened to the public in October 2007. According to its statutes, the Cité nationale de l'histoire de l'immigration has notably the mission of "gathering, safeguarding, enhancing and making accessible the elements relating to the history of immigration in France, notably since the nineteenth century; thus contributing to the recognition of the integration paths of immigrant populations in French society and changing views and mentalities on immigration in France".
The Cité nationale de l'histoire de l'immigration is the only national museum devoted to the history and cultures of immigration in France. Through the permanent exhibition Repères, the Cité presents two centuries of the history of immigration from a new angle by crossing historical, anthropological and artistic viewpoints. In addition, the Cité regularly offers an artistic and cultural programme: temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts, cinema, theatre, workshops, etc.
