Village troglodytique de Troo
Troo is probably the most picturesque troglodyte village in the Loir Valley.
This village was built on a cliff whose almost vertical face descends to the Loir. The village is laid out on four levels, the first at the level of the Loir, the two intermediate ones on the hillside, riddled with troglodyte dwellings, and the fourth on the plateau. All these levels are skilfully linked by a labyrinth of staircases. Troo's network of cafforts (fortified cellars), which extends over several kilometres underground, is also remarkable.
