Saint-Cirq-Lapopie
This village is largely classified as a historic monument. It stretches along a main street cut by picturesque, very flowery little lanes, carriérous or stairs linking houses.
All the squares are wonderful. Below the Carol, you glimpse the belvedere of the painter Henri Martin's house, and a very fine house with a thirteenth-century dovecote tower, the boatmen's inn. From the château de la Gardette, made of two buildings flanked by a turret and joined by a tower, you overlook the Lot, in delightful gardens. From the Sombral perched on the Lapopie rock, you dominate the whole village.
