Pozzi de Marmano
The Pozzi de Marmano are a group of pozzines, the small pools and wet grasslands typical of the Corsican high mountains. They lie at the source of the Fiumorbo, below the Punta Scaldasole (2,101 m), in the Monte Renoso massif, in the commune of Bastelica. Between green lawns, rivulets and rocks, the landscape is that of a large mountain pasture.
These fragile habitats are home to specially adapted plants and animals and are often grazed by herds in summer. They are discovered on a mountain hike, with fine views of the surrounding peaks. Keep to the paths, do not trample the pozzines, and bring water and protection from sun and wind.
