Plage d'Arone
Arone beach stretches in the Gulf of Porto, in Corse-du-Sud, in the commune of Piana. It unrolls a wide ribbon of golden sand, bordered by clear water, at the foot of a maquis that descends from the mountains. The setting, between the Piana calanques and the Scandola reserve, is one of the most beautiful on the Corsican coast.
The beach is reached by a narrow, winding road from the D81, which limits attendance. It is appreciated by families and nature lovers, with a generally calm sea in summer. On west-wind days, waves rise. Remember to check swimming conditions before going.
