Piscines Naturelles De Cavu

Corse-du-Sud, Corse

The Cavu natural pools are in southern Corsica, in the commune of Zonza, in the San Martinu valley, in the heart of the Corsica Regional Nature Park. The Cavu torrent has carved many clear pools into the granite, separated by wide slabs of rock.

From Porto-Vecchio, head for the hamlet of Taglio Rosso, from where a track of about thirty minutes on foot follows the river with views of the water. Some people drive up the track to the restaurant, from which a staircase leads down to the pools.

The shallower pools suit children and the deeper ones good swimmers. As the rocks are slippery, suitable footwear is recommended. The site is very busy in summer: it is best to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
