La cascade de Piscia di Gallo
The Piscia di Gallo waterfall (Piscia di Ghjaddu in Corsican) is also called the Cascade du Sapin. It drops about sixty metres at the bottom of the Oso valley, in the commune of San-Gavino-di-Carbini, on the borders of the Freto and the Alta Rocca, in the Ospédale massif in Corse-du-Sud.
It is fed by the Petra Piana stream and by a stream flowing from the Lac de l'Ospédale, a reservoir built in 1979 to supply drinking water to the Porto-Vecchio area.
The approach is on foot, along a path of about 2.5 km each way through forests and rock formations, taking one to two hours. The final descent between the boulders is tricky and may not suit young children.
