Les cascades et les piscines de Purcaraccia
The Purcaraccia waterfalls and pools are in Corse-du-Sud, near the D268 Bavella road, between the Col de Bavella and Solenzara. The torrent forms a succession of pools, natural slides and waterfalls, one of them said to be about forty metres high, in a granite setting. The site is known to canyoning enthusiasts and hikers.
The path starts from a hairpin bend in the road, without a sign. It is steep and unmarked, and estimates of the walking time range from 30 minutes to more than two hours.
Access has been regulated or restricted in recent years, with, according to the sources, a high-season limit to visitors accompanied by a guide, or even a closure. It is therefore essential to check with the commune before setting off.
