Musée Grévin
The Musée Grévin is a private wax museum at 10 boulevard Montmartre, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Created in 1881 or 1882 depending on the sources, it belongs to Grévin & Cie, a subsidiary of Compagnie des Alpes.
The route brings together wax figures of famous personalities, historical scenes and people in the news, from the history of France to evenings in the world of show business and the jet set. The one-way visit lasts about an hour and a half.
The place also appeals through its décor: the Coupole room and the Colonnes room have kept a Baroque-style décor dating from 1882, and an Italian-style theatre regularly hosts shows. The route includes the Palais des Mirages, a play of mirrors and lights created for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, often considered one of the highlights of the visit.
The museum suits families, the curious and visitors who want to combine entertainment and Belle Époque architecture, in the heart of the Grands Boulevards, near the Grands Boulevards and Richelieu-Drouot stations.
