Musée Espace Pierres Folles
Pierres Folles is at once a museum, a botanical garden and a geological trail. - The museum: the ground floor deals with the formation of the Earth, the appearance and evolution of life, the fossils of the area, and several aquariums link today's fauna with fossil fauna. The first floor presents the relationship between soil and vegetation, notably vine-growing and the origin of the diversity of the Beaujolais wines, and the use of stone by people in the area, with the golden-stone villages and cement-making. The top floor is reserved for temporary exhibitions, renewed every two years, with their programme of events (demonstrations, workshops, lectures, round tables).
- The botanical garden: laid out on parts of the former quarry filled with earth, the plantings cover 8,400 m² and bring together more than 500 species, the plants found growing wild in the area, especially those of the limestone and clay-limestone soils of the golden-stone Beaujolais.
- The geological trail: four sites offer a life-size retrospective of the area's geological history.
