Musée de l'Oeuvre Notre Dame

Bas-Rhin, Grand Est

The Musée de l'Œuvre Notre-Dame is a museum in Strasbourg devoted to the visual and decorative arts of the Upper Rhine territories (Alsace, Baden, Rhenish Switzerland, Palatinate) from the early Middle Ages to the annexation of Alsace to France in 1681. It is in the historic building of the Fondation de l'Œuvre Notre-Dame, responsible for the upkeep of Strasbourg cathedral, next to the Palais Rohan. The Musée de l'Œuvre Notre-Dame is famous for its rich collections of architectural elements, works of art (statues, altarpieces, tapestries), original plans and stained glass from the cathedral and many other churches of the region, as well as for its rich set of paintings by Konrad Witz, Hans Baldung and Sébastien Stoskopff. It also presents a small garden containing medicinal plants used at the time.
