Le Planétarium de Strasbourg
The planetarium of the Jardin des Sciences of the University of Strasbourg, in the Bas-Rhin, is on the Boulevard de la Victoire, in the Neustadt district. It opened in 2023 as part of a Franco-Quebec project and replaces the old planetarium on the Rue de l'Observatoire, now closed.
Its auditorium has a dome screen fifteen metres in diameter tilted at eighteen degrees, 360-degree projection and an astronomical simulator. Presenters, called pilots, guide audiences across the sky and present a selection of immersive films on astronomy and space. The shows are aimed at families, school groups and anyone curious about science. The programme can be found on the Jardin des Sciences website.
