Musée de l'Hydraviation
The Seaplane Museum is set at Biscarrosse, in the Landes, rue Louis Breguet, on the site of the former Latécoère seaplane base. More than 120 seaplanes were assembled there over the years, and the museum keeps this heritage.
It was born from a temporary exhibition organised for the base's 50th anniversary. Public interest in this place and its place in aeronautical history made it permanent. The museum bears the Musée de France label. It is managed by the commune of Biscarrosse and relies on the association Friends of the Museum and on patrons to enrich its collections.
The route tells the history of seaplane aviation worldwide from the first flight of 1910. It combines indoor and outdoor spaces, with models, mechanical parts, period documents and a hall presenting seaplanes of different eras.
The visit interests aviation enthusiasts, families and visitors to the Landes coast attracted by the history of the lake and the base.
