Les Gorges et canyon du Grenand

Savoie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Grenand gorges and canyon are at La Bridoire, in Savoie, on the edge of the Chartreuse and the Savoyard Avant-Pays. The Grenand torrent has carved gorges, giants' kettles and waterfalls there.

The fun trail of the Grenand combe, starting from the village, forms a small loop of two to three kilometres depending on sources. Educational panels, including a series designed as a game for children, explain river erosion and the work of water. A walkway lets you observe the gorges, and the path passes near a waterfall.

The trail is accessible all year round. Booklets are available at the start, near the church, as well as at the tourist office. The Grenand canyon is also a canyoning site, and the GR 9 passes nearby.
