Les cascades de la Nielle à Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse

Aude, Occitanie

Just south of the village of Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse, in the Aude, the Nielle tumbles down rock steps shaped by erosion before forming a large natural pool. The water is clear and cool, and dense vegetation shades the spot.

The site, little developed and fairly discreet, lies in a landscape of garrigue and vineyards typical of the Hautes Corbières. It is known mainly as a summer swimming spot; swimming is unsupervised and at your own risk. Access is signposted after leaving the village, with a small car park after a bridge.

A short walking loop, Les Faïsses par la Nielle, also follows the stream, but it may be impassable after heavy rain.
