Lagrasse
The abbey of Lagrasse was founded in the eighth century in the Orbieu valley and, located on the Spanish marches of the Carolingian kingdom, played a particularly important role.
Today, the whole village keeps its medieval charm, with its houses of old, the covered market of its central square, the remains of its ramparts and its bridges, one of which dates from the eleventh century, and the old monastery. The latter's buildings date from several periods: their construction was spread from the pre-Romanesque period to the eighteenth century.
