Les Gorges du Verdouble et le Moulin de Ribaute

Near the village of Duilhac-sous-Peyrepertuse, after a short trip along a road lined with vines, the Verdouble gorges, known as "Les Cascades", offer a dazzling spectacle in a picturesque setting. The Verdouble river has cut its way through the Cretaceous limestones of the Anayrac massif in an impressive gorge bordered with rosemary. Transparent water flows through a succession of waterfalls, potholes and small natural lakes carved in the rock. A dam, of which the anchors in the rock remain, once supplied the Ribaute wheat mill.
