Le lac de Creno
The Lac de Creno, or Crenu, fills a glacial hollow at 1,310 metres in the commune of Soccia, in the Corse-du-Sud, in the Monte Rotondo massif. Surrounded by a forest of laricio pines, it is the only Corsican lake with wooded shores, which gives it a particularly peaceful atmosphere.
Its waters hold white water lilies, and the nearby wetlands known as pozzines shelter rare protected carnivorous plants, sundews. The lake is reached on foot from Soccia by a hiking path of about an hour and a half, very busy in the fine season.
