La station les Rousses
Les Rousses is a commune in the Haut-Jura, in the Jura département, which gives its name to a resort grouping four villages: Les Rousses, Lamoura, Bois-d'Amont and Prémanon. It extends over the plateau and the Risoux and Massacre forests, near the Swiss border and the Lac des Rousses.
The resort is best known for its vast Nordic area, holding Nordic France's highest label, with several cross-country skiing and snowshoeing sites. The Transjurassienne, a cross-country ski race from Lamoura to Mouthe, is held there every year in mid-February. At Prémanon, the Les Tuffes site houses the National Nordic Skiing and Biathlon Centre and the ski jumps.
Downhill skiing is practised on several small massifs, such as the Noirmont at Bois-d'Amont and La Serra at Lamoura. Since 2020 the Franco-Swiss offer has been called Jura sur Léman.
