Tourbière de Prénovel
Prénovel is a village of the Haut-Jura, in the Grandvaux area, set on a plateau in a combe. Nearby lies the Nanchez peat bog, also called the Prénovel bog, part of the Bief de Nanchez nature reserve in the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park.
The site is laid out for discovery: a path winds through the heart of the bog on a wooden boardwalk, which protects the fragile habitat and allows its distinctive plants and wildlife to be observed. Bicycles are not allowed on the boardwalk.
Several routes pass through the bog, such as the easy Arête loop of about 5.75 km or the Combe de Prénovel of about 8.5 km. They are suitable for families and nature lovers, in an open landscape of meadows and mountain forests.
