Cascade de la Frasnée

Jura, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

The Frasnée waterfall nestles at the end of a reculée, the type of blind valley characteristic of the Jura relief, where water tumbles down a series of rock steps before partly disappearing into the limestone below.

Less well known than the famous Hérisson waterfalls nearby, the site has a similar atmosphere, with mossy walls and a stream cascading through dense forest. The commune of La Frasnée, in the Jura, is the starting point for exploring this quiet corner.
