Gourdon
In the twelfth century, Gourdon was a military site providing protection against frequent Saracen raids. In the nineteenth century, the village was doubled: the perched village worked its land thanks to its winegrowers and fruit growers while the village below, called Pont du Loup, grew perfume plants for the Grasse distilleries, a few kilometres away.
Today, the perched village, rich in architectural heritage, is a tourist site, a place of visit for Provençals.
