Distillerie Busnel

Eure, Normandie

The Busnel Distillery is a calvados distillery still in operation, set on Route de Lisieux, at Cormeilles, in the Eure, at the gates of the Pays d'Auge. The house was founded in 1820 and is one of the great calvados houses.

The guided visit lets you follow the work of transforming the apple into calvados. The route leads to the Pays d'Auge distillation room, equipped with double-distillation stills, then to the bottling room and two ageing cellars. It ends at the Maison Busnel with a tasting session, which introduces the aromas of the house's calvados. The visit lasts about 1h15.

It is offered in French, English and German, and groups can be welcomed by appointment.

This place is aimed at lovers of local produce, those curious about know-how and visitors passing on the road to Lisieux. More than 5 million litres of calvados age in its cellars.
