Chocolatrium

Eure, Normandie

The Chocolatrium is the chocolate museum of the Michel Cluizel house, set within the manufactory, avenue Michel Cluizel, at Mesnils-sur-Iton (Damville), in the Eure. Opened in 2002, it was born from the Cluizel family's wish to share its passion and know-how with the public.

The route retraces the history of cocoa and chocolate making through objects, photographs, machines and scenes recreating old workshops. It follows the stages of transformation, from the plantation to boxing, and evokes the story of Michel Cluizel, founder of the house.

The visit includes the museum space, the screening of a film in the film library, the discovery of a finishing workshop and a guided tasting with an introduction to the cocoa bean. It lasts about 1h15. A complementary activity lets you compose a large square of chocolate with a master chocolatier.

The place suits families, groups and the gastronomically curious. A shop of the house is on site.
