Crissay-sur-Manse

Indre-et-Loire, Centre-Val de Loire

Located in the heart of Touraine, in the picturesque Manse valley, the village of Crissay is full of charm. The houses are magnificent, notably those of the square from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Built of tuffeau, that fine white stone of Touraine, they have kept mullioned windows and fine slate roofs adorned with ornate dormers. You can then, passing under the postern, climb to the ruins of the fifteenth-century castle. On the right, the church dates from 1527. Crissay will win you over with the charming disorder of its streets, its gardens, its little flowered walls. It is an adorable country village that has kept all its authenticity.
