Cité internationale de la tapisserie
The Cité internationale de la tapisserie opened in summer 2016 in the former National School of Decorative Arts in Aubusson, in the Creuse, completely restructured. Its 1,200 m² of exhibition space introduce a craft recognised by UNESCO as part of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
An original display traces six centuries of Aubusson tapestry, up to striking contemporary works. The Cité is also a place of training and creation, with workshops, and houses the leading tapestry resource centre in Europe.
