Château de Villemonteix
The Château de Villemonteix, in the Creuse, is one of the most elegant buildings of the late Middle Ages. Through its proportions, the beauty of its wall-walk and its windows it foreshadows the Renaissance, and its walls include part of the first 13th-century keep.
The château is lived in and entirely furnished with period furniture. It once had a drawbridge, moats and an artillery bulwark.
