Château de Boussac
Legend has it that the first castle of Boussac, in the Creuse, was built on the orders of Julius Caesar. The restoration of the château, the laying out of its gardens and its refurnishing have turned it into an exhibition venue that attracts many visitors.
The place keeps the memory of George Sand, the 'Lady of Nohant', who left a description of it: the courtyard and the armorial façade face the town, while the other side plunges into the sheer rock that carries it above the bed of the Petite Creuse, facing a vast horizon and a drop deep enough to make one dizzy.
