Château de Sainte-Feyre

Creuse, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The Château de Sainte-Feyre, in the Creuse, stands on the site of a feudal castle, on the road from Guéret to Aubusson, on a hilltop in the Creuse valley. Built in the 18th century, it consists of a large main building and symmetrical outbuildings.

Since 1998 it has been restored in successive stages and is coming back to life. The visit includes the medieval cellars, with the old kitchen and the guardroom, and much of the main floor, at the top of the front steps: salons, dining rooms, bedrooms and boudoirs.
