Ecomusée Tuilerie de Pouligny

Creuse, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The Écomusée Tuilerie de Pouligny, at Chéniers in the north of the Creuse, continues the story of the Pouligny tile works, which began in 1830 when a tile maker, Jean Monsieur, arrived from the south of the département.

It tells the long story of the meeting between people and clay, which began 12,000 years ago. Guided tours, sound-and-light shows, concerts, exhibitions and activities for all ages are on offer, as well as pottery workshops, introductions to glazing and firings in wood kilns. A potters' market is also held here.
