Cascade des Moulines
The Cascade des Moulines is at Anzême, in the Creuse, on the Siauve, a small tributary of the Creuse. The stream, calm for most of its course, narrows as it nears the river: the water tumbles between granite boulders, hollowed into potholes by stone-laden water. The height of the rock step is given as 13 to 20 metres by the regional environment agency, while other sources describe a more modest drop.
The site has been listed since 1991 and covers 30 hectares. It extends the protected site of the Anzême gorges, downstream.
Access is from the D14, west of Anzême, via a small car park and then a short path down to the river. This path can be slippery. The waterfall is at its best after rain.
