Citadelle de Port-Louis

Morbihan, Bretagne

The Port-Louis Citadel is a citadel built in the sixteenth century by the Spanish, then modified in the seventeenth century by the French. It is in the town of Port-Louis in France, and closes access to the Lorient roadstead. It currently houses an East India Company museum, the Musée national de la Marine and annexes devoted to sea rescue. The citadel, as well as the ramparts, have been listed as historic monuments since 29 April 1948.
