Château de l'Hermine
The Château de l'Hermine, or Hôtel Lagorce, is a building set into the ramparts of Vannes, in the Morbihan. Built on the ruins of the old Hermine fortress, residence of the Dukes of Brittany from the 14th to the 16th century, it was successively a mansion and an artillery school, before housing various services.
The old fortress has disappeared, but the Hôtel Lagorce, at the foot of the ramparts, recalls it. The Jardins de l'Hermine, below the ramparts of Vannes, offer a pleasant shady walk, with a flower bed and a view of the Porte Saint-Vincent. It is best seen together with the rest of Vannes's old town.
