Château de Ripaille

Haute-Savoie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The château de Ripaille is a former manor of the late thirteenth or early fourteenth century, standing in the commune of Thonon-les-Bains, in Haute-Savoie. Located between Thonon and Évian, on the shores of Lake Geneva, it is one of the most remarkable places of history, nature and beauty in Haute-Savoie.

Former residence of the dukes of Savoy and former charterhouse, the site, then in ruins, was acquired in 1892 by an aesthete industrialist, Frédéric Engel-Gros. The estate includes a château, woods and a vineyard. The visit lets you discover the history of the House of Savoy, with its restored interiors and its park open to the lake.
