Chartreuse du Reposoir
The former Charterhouse, now a Carmel, is classified as a Historic Monument. In the shadow of the Pointe Percée (2,752 m), it was founded in 1151 by Carthusian monks of the order of Saint Bruno. The buildings, restored in 1686 and 1717, house the monks' former cells, the large and small Flamboyant Gothic cloisters, the harmonious chapel (1480–1530) and the common rooms. After clearing the land for centuries and organising pastoral and agricultural life, the Carthusians left in 1901, giving way from 1932 to Carmelite nuns.
