Château de la Roche du Roi
The château de la Roche du Roi is at Aix-les-Bains, in Savoie. It was built between 1897 and 1900 for Jean Archiprêtre-Dugit, manager of the Hôtel du Grand Café and administrator of the Villa des Fleurs casino. Its architect is Jules Pin, a representative of Aix's eclectic architecture.
The ensemble is eclectic, with four corner turrets and a central keep. Art Nouveau is limited to a few elements: a wrought-iron grille and gates along the boulevard, and a glass roof that lights the main staircase. The façades and roofs, the terrace, the staircase and part of the ground floor have been protected as historic monuments since 1986.
Sources differ on the present owner (town or private owner) and it has not been possible to confirm visits. The garden, abandoned, keeps a basin and a pergola.
